Perfect Harmony

Renowned for their clean vocal harmonies, Two for Tripping’s heartfelt performances resonate with audiences. Their emotional connection, their love for music and each other communicates itself and captivates listeners.

First connected in the mid-90’s through a variety of musical projects such as Two Drink Minimum, Five Easy Pieces and Razzberry Rockets, Steve and Christine ultimately discovered the power of two. “Somewhere in the midst of time spent together with our music, we fell in love,” says Christine. As musical partnerships and projects changed, the couple moved ahead with a new marriage and a new musical endeavor. Two for Tripping has remained a steadfast and integral part of their lives ever since.

With common roots in rock & roll along with Steve’s celtic/folk and Christine’s country influences, they bring a unique rendition to each song they perform. Individually they each possess a strong lead voice and have discovered how to use their talents to complement each other. With guitar, bass and mandolin added to the mix, the result is a cohesive, clean and complete sound.

With a knack for knowing their audience, this hometown duo tends to leave their listeners with that familiar feeling of spending time with long lost friends. “We very quickly recognize when to be the life of the party and when to be unobtrusive and ambient” explains Steve “We never arrive with preconceived notions. Music is for the enjoyment of the listener first and foremost, it is from this that we draw our enjoyment as musicians.”

It is fitting that the first gig as Two for Tripping and as a newly formed couple was Valentine’s Day in 2002 at the romantic and rustic Lemon Creek Lodge. This intimate evening has remained a standing gig and a cherished evening every year since. “Each time we play it is like celebrating an Anniversary,” says Steve. “Over the years it has been the gig we look forward to the most,” adds Christine.

While the band believes there is nothing better than playing live, plans to release their debut album are also on the horizon. “People ask us all the time for CD’s” says Christine “It moves us to know that our music resonates so strongly with people and we’d love to give them a way to keep on listening.”

From weddings to wineries to home concerts, they simply keep on doing what the Two love to do. “It nurtures us in a way that nothing else does” shares Steve. “Every time we play music together there’s comfort and a connection; it feels like being totally honest and open with each other” adds Christine. “It’s what love sounds like.”
